Dr. Martha Bidez founded and incubated Alabama’s first biomedical implant company, BioHorizons, Inc., within BioEchoes (formerly Bidez and Associates, Inc.). BioHorizons was spun out as a separate, investor financed entity in 1996. Ten years later, the company was sold to a research-based private equity firm in New York, Healthpoint Capital. Annual revenue now exceeds $170,000,000 with 7 wholly-owned subsidiaries in Australia, Canada, Chile, Germany, Mexico, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
