Research & Development
BioEchoes and its founder, Dr. Martha Bidez, have over 20 years experience in research and development in injury prevention. Research methodologies have included experimental impact tests with cadavers and crash dummies, as well as computer-based, mathematical simulations. Funding for our research has been provided by a variety of sources, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control, the World Bank Global Road Safety Facility, FIA Foundation, and Daimler-Benz.
Catastrophic injuries within the vehicular crash environment have been a particular focus of research for BioEchoes. As a result of our research, we have published and presented numerous scholarly papers in internationally recognized journals and conferences.
Areas of funded research include
- Small occupant safety
- Side Impact safety
- Injury causation in rollover crashes
